The successful candidate will work with Kiewit’s senior construction managers to assist them with their operating initiatives and construction activities throughout the company’s network of affiliate offices.
Responsibilities include:
· Must understand the construction process. Act as the primary point of contact for our affiliates, providing background project information, resources, branding and message development. Provide support and training to affiliates in the development of collateral materials.
· Build and foster collaborative relationships, facilitating communication between all affiliates in order to improve the effectiveness of internal communications and the construction process.
· Oversee the coordination and ongoing development of various internal business materials by working with an internal team of designers and writers. Must produce materials on time and within budget and evaluate the effectiveness of various campaigns.
· Understand the business development and proposal development processes in an engineering, construction or similar technical environment. Assist business development managers with capturing and organizing “best practices” regarding proposal content, coordination and production processes, owner presentations and qualifications packages.
· Maintain the organization’s business development intranet site. Gather and retain current, accurate statistics such as financial figures, organization charts, affiliate information, construction project data, etc., for use company-wide.
· Assist by researching, creating, drafting, editing and/or proofing communications and presentations as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree from four-year college/university.
· A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an engineering, construction, or similar technical environment, with business development experience. Must understand the construction process, from the conceptual stage through the bidding, construction and completion stage of a project.
· Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative, goal-focused team are required. Ability to manage multiple projects and work according to deadlines. Ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
· Superior ability to express ideas concisely and clearly both orally and in writing is required. Ability to write a variety of communication materials, including marketing and proposal materials, reports and business correspondence. Good editing and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret and apply knowledge gained from analytics are required. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Explorer and SharePoint) and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
· Travel up to 25-50%.
